Low Profile Leaning Post for Intruder 198
We just installed this custom low profile leaning post for an Intruder 198. A standard leaning post would have been too tall for this boat, so we made this seat with extra short legs. The aluminum frame is anodize for a protective shine, because salt water can corrode regular aluminum. We used marine vinyl to fabricate the seat cushion and stainless steel hardware for the installation. Angle brackets were used for backing plates to provide enough support to fold the entire hatch open. This is great, because there is still access to this part of the boat and it’s still easily accessible.
Just about every leaning post we build is custom and comes with several options. We offer several different widths, that can be customized by adding on. A standard feature is 4 rod holders and a grab rail. This low profile leaning post received a stationary backrest. We recommend this style, so that rod holders aren’t clogged up by a removable backrest. For standard height leaning posts, we include an additional bar as a coolers stop.
We offer several colors for the cushions and 2-tone options are available. This color is shell white and is flat vinyl, so it can match the other cushions on the boat. A popular option is an arctic white with vertical pleats. Anodized aluminum is our standard finish, however powder coating is available.
